Okay, so as some of you may have seen (if you read the Cbox last night [8/26]) I am re-creating the Elissa gown from Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage show of Phantom. The gown is featured in the scene with "Think of Me", Christine's 'debut'.
Anyways.. Since I'm having my own little "debut" in March for the Vocal Variety Show...I decided to go out of my last year in this school with a bang.
Hence the reason for making the gown.
Pictures, if you've never seen it:
Yeah. And considering I can't sew on a machine for my life (well, okay, that's not entirely true. IF I HAVE A PATTERN I AM SUCCESSFUL! XD), so I'll be stitching most of it by hand. That also means stitching all the little beads on by hand. XD Luckily, I have until March.
Anyways... Besides that, I may need to know how to make a bustle pillow. I found one on eBay for 29 dollars (which I can easily pay for with my saved money in my drawer) but my mom has told me "you won't like having that thing on your butt all night!"
Which wouldn't be true... because I would have to put it on before my turn in the show.. XD so... wrong about that, Mom. Plus it'd only be an hour, without sitting.. and then walking around and talking to people afterwards (which wouldn't be so bad).
So. Anyways, as I told the lovely Riyah, I'll be posting pictures of my progress. Probably weekly, at the most. :]
Shopping for materials on Wednesday [Aug. 29th] after lesson with Sarah, so looks like I get to jump right into it!

Sept. 1 Okay. So. I bought the felt and sequins I need for the top/gold part of the bodice... Soooo we go back to Joann's sometime soon, hopefully Friday... to get the rest of the materials... XD
I just thought I'd let you all know about my 'drastic plunge' into getting this thing started. XD

Sept. 9
Bought my beads... I'm going to buy 2000 gold glass beads off eBay to put on it...
We still haven't gone back to Joann's... XD
I need to get my measurements... but I believe that perhaps today sometime, if I find my material, I'll make myself the bustle pad. I'll post pictures if I can find the transfer cord.
We're also going to buy a crinoline/slip off of eBay and place the bustle pad under that... like said above, I'll be sure to take pictures for all of you! :]

Sept. 14 Well. My aunt ditched me, basically. She decided that it was too hard for her and that there was 'no way I'd ever be able to do it because I'm not professional'. Okay, maybe it will turn out to be a complete disaster... but I'd rather try than not do anything whatsoever. Anyways. We also bought a pattern for a bustle dress.. I'll just have to alter the measurements quite a bit to fit the crinoline and bustle, XD [/size][/blockquote]

Sept. 23
I feel like I'm going to die. Stupid late night travel... gah. If I ever have to put up with drunk tailgaters again in my life, I'll shoot someone.
Anyway...
My crinoline came. The beads haven't... So..
We're apparently going to go talk to Sylvia about helping with it. Hopefully I can start the blasted thing sometime soon. I need something to do with my hands...
