∙Name∙ Jacqueline Aniselle Nouette
(Prefers the nickname Jaci, and a select few call her Ani)
∙Age∙ 25
∙Gender∙ Female
∙Height∙ 5'5½"
∙Weight∙ 119 lbs
∙Appearance∙ Her appearance is possibly one of the least important things to Jaci. As a result, she is only fairly attractive, although she could be a lot more beautiful if she tried. Having Irish genes, her skin is naturally tanned and has a slightly olive tint to it, rather calloused and tough from a not-so-easy life. It complements her hair, which is long and a dark, vivid red, mostly seen twisted up and held with crochet and knitting needles as well as having sewing needles stuck into it in several places. A knot of hair is her form of a pincushion.
Quite against the common rule of red hair/green eyes combination, her almond shaped-eyes are a hazel-brown, rimmed with short but curled brown lashes. Lips rather thin but light pink and a face that is wider around the jaw fill out her upper appearance, which is not very displeasing to the eye but could certainly be improved should she feel the need.
Jaci never quite understood the point of wasting time, and so she swift sewing is shown in the many pricks and stabs into her hands, evidence that her hands sometimes move faster than her mind. She is stronger than her lean body reveals, and eats somewhat less than she should, so in places she could do with a bit of weight. Reflexes being very quick, she moves with swift, almost jerky actions, almost always seeming rather impatient that she cannot move any faster.
∙Personality∙ She is quick to smile but also quick to frown; and her frown may last much longer than it should. Although she is friendly and her wit is almost biting, a single severe disagreement can tarnish a relationship with her forever, for she is slow to forgive. But she will be a friend to the last, and is extremely loyal and steadfast in that. Her trust, also, is difficult to secure: years of living amongst unjust and untrustworthy people have hardened her against most.
Her temper is like her hair, flaming hot when is flares up and often flared. Being a very defensive, argumentative person, the slightest thing could set her off. And once Jaci's spreading flames, it takes several gallons of water to head her off. Her determination to support her family has given her the ability to work hard at something until she has it right, never failing, no matter how many times she fails.
∙Wealth Status∙ Somewhere between middle-class and poor.
∙Occupation∙ Seamstress at the Palais Garnier
∙Personal Posessions∙ -a music box she received from her grandmother, old and valuable
-a heart-shaped locket on a chain, holding a picture of her mother on one side and her siblings on the other, also very old and valuable
-a silver sewing needle, which she claims is better than any other she has ever used
∙Pets∙ Strangely enough, a small gray mouse that stays on her shoulder most of the time, chewing contentedly on her hair.
∙Family∙ Father Charles
Mother Élise
Sisters Inès (older), Elisabet (younger), and Odette (younger)
Brothers Jean (older), Adrien (younger), Claude (younger)
Relations Étienne (husband to Inès), their daughter Dianne
∙History∙ Her family was once wealthy, but her grandfather squandered his share of the inheritance before Jaci was born and then died, leaving her father, Charles, mother, Élise, and their seven children to try to scrape a living together. As soon as she was old enough, she took a job at the nearby opera as a seamstress, who would take her at the young age of only eleven. Her father and a younger brother died in a fire two years later, and her mother sustained an injury that left her unable to feel her legs. Arthritis had already claimed her hands. And so Jaci's older sister, Inès, married when she was eighteen, and the older children worked where they could or stayed home to take care of the younger children. They are comfortable now, all of their salaries working together to feed and clothe and house them, and Jaci now rents a small flat closer to the opera.
∙Participate in the story of the Phantom?∙ Not what I originally had in mind, but we'll see how it all turns out.
∙Sample Post∙ I also play Sorelli; does that count?
