Name: Claire Aimee Amarante
Age: 19
Gender: female
Height: 5’7
Weight: 127
Appearance: Claire is tall and elegant, willowy, almost like a bird. She has dark blonde hair, almost to the point where at times it looks more honey colored than blonde. Her eyes are hazel, and her waist is slim and muscular. She has dainty cheekbones and her lashes are not supremely long, but dark and full just the same. She is primarily a dancer, and has been so all her life. Despite her strength, Claire has very delicate features. One would not call her stunningly beautiful, but certainly pretty in her own way.
She has full lips and her eyes are large and round, always full of a certain sparkle, as though she is thinking of something wonderful. Her hair is long, straight, and it usually kept up in a bun. As for her physical appearance from the neck down, she has a small waist and hips, with a medium chest. This irritates her, for she does not want to have a large chest, as she feels it will stop her career, and so she often binds it to make it appear smaller than it is.
Personality: Claire is, for the most part, quiet and shy. She loves to go up to the rooftops of the Opera Populaire to draw the scenery or just think. She knows she is talented at dancing, but she is not the type to flaunt it. She is strong physically and emotionally, she’s dedicated and ambitious, and beneath the surface of that quiet ballerina, there are wonderful ideas just waiting to come out.
If given half a chance, Claire proves to be a loyal friend. She is a bit mischievous though, and once people get to know her, they realize she is always thinking and pondering about the world around her. She is quite intelligent, though she comes from a middle class family, and is always trying to better herself.
One thing about Claire is that she is not manipulative. At times she can seem naïve and trusting, but once you have broken her trust, it is not easy to gain it back. She is forgiving to her friends and family, and although she is shy, if she sees someone hurting she will try and help them as best she can. She is not a violent person, and making her angry takes a lot. She is cheerful and good natured, and very clever. She has a strong faith in people being good, generally speaking, and so if something bad happens, she will try and look at it from both sides.
Wealth Status: middle class
Occupation: Ballerina, occasional chorus member
Personal Possessions:
Two day dresses
One good, “church dress” as her mother would call it.
One work dress
A small chest: within is her grandfather’s dagger, a necklace from her mother, a picture of her drawn by Cullen, and a small book in which she writes down her ideas, thought, hopes and dreams—a diary.
Pets: Currently she has a squirrel named Henri. She found the creature under the family porch and nursed it back to health and now it will not leave her side, indoors or out. It behaves rather like a small cat than a squirrel, for at night it likes to curl up on the foot of her bed, it’s soft fluffy tail raped around it like a little halo.

A grandmother (from her mother’s side who lives with them) named Darrelle Garnet, who is 76. (Garnet is her mother’s maiden name.)
History: Claire Aimee Amarante was born on April 27th in a medium sized village in the French countryside. As a child she loved to play in the fields, climb trees, or simply read by a small pond that they had in their backyard. Her parents were shopkeepers, but wanted something better for their children, and so they decided to move closer to Paris. There, their business flourished, and they became known as a moderately wealthy middle class family.
They bought a bigger house, nearer to the hustle and bustle of Paris. This was very hard on Claire, who loved the fresh air of the country and the sound of the birds chirping at her when she woke up each morning. To help her adjust better to her new life, her mother saved up enough money to send her and her sisters to a fancy boarding school, Madame Adele’s, in hopes that her shiest daughter would find her way in the world , and maybe even make friends along the way.
Soon her sisters were coming home showing embroidery and playing piano for their parents, but Claire seemed to be even worse. She found the boarding school to be noisy and bustling with activity. She did not like the sound of the horse’s hoof beats on the cobbled roads outside, scratchy sheets, and the strict rules. She did not like the gossip that the other girls were so fond of, and because of her nature she was often excluded, as the other girls took her shyness to be arrogance and snootiness.
Her parents did not know where to send her next to help their daughter. It seemed she would always be shy, quiet, and unhappy in the city…when quite suddenly, Madame Adele had a break through idea. She had noticed how Claire seemed to succeed at the movement classes which were mandatory for all the girls, and told the Amarante’s to invest in dance lessons for Claire. At first, her mother was very reluctant to do so.
She thought the arts were wonderful, but how could her little Claire possibly ever do something like dance in front of people when she could not even talk to them? Strangely even, however, through dance Claire found her voice. She learned to express her feelings through graceful, elegant movements, astonishing everyone in her family with her dedication and talent. Now, once again Claire is moving, for her dance teacher has retired. I t is time for her to take her place in life, which is how she found herself at the doorsteps of the world famous Opera Populaire.

Her feet crunched in the Fall leaves as she slowly walked up the steps to the opera house. Anticipation and yet a bit of fear filled Claire as she raised her eyes, taking in the impressive architecture and wide doors. It was so large. Time after time she had ridden past it, saw it out of the corner of her eyes on the way to the market, or glanced at it as she chatted with a few friends, but now…now when it was in front of her, it seemed too beautiful and impressive for words. At the same time she found it intimidating and frightening, like a large stone monster that would swallow her if she got too close.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Claire.” She thought to herself. “It isn’t frightening. It’s just a building. It can’t harm you.”
Having thought this, she pulled herself together and forced herself to walk forwards. Inadvertently she hugged her wool scarf closer to her as a cold wind swept by her skirts, rustlings the nearby leaves. The summer had long ago ended, and now a chilly Fall had ensued, much to Claire’s dismay. Nervously she bit her lip as she raises a pale hand to the door to knock. They were expecting her, she knew they were. She just hoped she could live up to their expectations, all the while making her dreams of dancing and being someone in the world come true.
To her, this was the moment where she could either fail or triumph. Her hand was still raised, as she had not yet knocked, and suddenly Claire blushed hard, thinking of how foolish she looked. With a determined look on her face, she wrapped upon the door smartly, before stepping back a bit and smiling to herself in an effort to ease her unending nervous. This was her new home, and she was determined to make the best of it and learn as much as possible. After all, it wasn’t everyday a ballerina got the chance to do what she was about to do.
