Alright... major change here... I may not be on for a while, in all honesty... Some of you may have seen what I said in the Cbox about my cat having been hit by a car. I feel the need to explain this to you, just so you get the whole story.
The cats are outdoor cats. Herm and Jake, they're litter mates and they're the craziest things ever. If something happened to one of them, the other would be totally lost.
So yesterday, Jake decided to go outside like he usually does. He left around 10:00 that morning, but by 10:00 that night he hadn't come back. We were having a Christmas party, so we couldn't go out to try and find him, plus he's been gone for days at a time to return looking totally fine.
Well, my grandparents were at this party, and they had left around 10:00 or 10:30... and they made it as far as the little Amish school house on the corner of our road (I live in the country) and they saw something in the ditch in the snow... Turns out, it was Jake.
They brought him back, and set him in the garage with everybody else... he couldn't really walk, he couldn't put any weight on his back right leg... So we laid him in his bed and took him to the vet at 7:30 this morning.
The vet thought that it could've been some sort of spinal injury of some sort. Jake was unable to move his tail, and the vet said that if he came out of whatever he was in that he would be okay, but we would have to remove his tail so he would be able to go to the bathroom and stuff. So basically, his tail was gone.
So we brought him home and gave him painkiller. He seemed to be okay, he walked to the water bowl, but flopped down right when he got there. So we put him back into his bed, and sat... a few hours later, he tried again, so I helped him over, and he fell into the water bowl. So I put him back into his bed and he lied there. Occasionally he'd muster up enough strength to flop over on his other side, but that didn't happen much...
Just a half hour ago, he started seizing and then he passed.
As you can imagine, I'm beside myself with grief. I don't know if I have the emotional stability right now to handle a site, I'm going to try and find one of you who would be willing to watch the site a bit for me, so that explains the moderator account. You won't have to moderate from your account, you can just use that one.
I promise it won't be too long, and in the mean time I'll be writing up posts for anyone that I'm posting with.
Please bear with me, I'm only asking for a couple days at the least.
You're all wonderful, and thank you for dealing with me this long. If we hit January 14, R&N will be five months old! (not counting August, so technically it's already a half a year old xD)
